Securex West Africa’s Post-show Report Released
Organisers of West Africa’s No.1 security expo report all-time high attendee figures following the 2018 edition of Securex West Africa in Lagos, Nigeria.
This year’s exhibition took place from 20 – 21 March 2018 at the Landmark Centre in Lagos, Nigeria. With 50 top brands exhibiting, two co-located conferences and several senior dignitaries to open the event, Securex West Africa 2018 has been reported as the most successful edition to date.
Recognised as the biggest security, fire and safety exhibition in West Africa, this year’s show grew to 696 SQM and attracted an event record of 2,344 attendees, up 24% from 2017. A truly international event, Securex visitors came from 17 different countries, the likes of which included Nigeria, South Africa, Togo, Senegal, Benin and more.
Organisers welcomed Mr Kunle Olawunmi, Special Advisor to the Governor of Lagos State on Security & Intelligence, among 12 other dignitaries and association members to help open the exhibition. Across the two days, attendees saw cutting-edge product demonstrations first-hand and witnessed state-of-the-art technology developments from top quality brands.
“We are delighted with the results from this year, in particular, we feel the increase in visitor numbers directly reflects the growth opportunities within the market and how valuable the show is as a trade platform. Already we have big plans for next year’s show, and we are excited to get companies on board for 2019!” George Pearson, Regional Director, Afrocet Montgomery (Securex West Africa organisers).
The two co-located conferences, including WACSS (West African Cyber Security Summit), saw 30 experts take to the stage to share their knowledge and insights into the future of the security, fire and safety markets. Among the keynote speakers this year were, Dr Abdurrazaq Balogun, Executive Secretary/ CEO at the Lagos State Security Fund and Ms Tanwa Ashiru, CEO, Defense, Intelligence and Security at Bulwark Intelligence.
