Florence Kayemba IbokAbasi is a Program Manager and a Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist (CAS) with specific research interests in Preventing/Countering Violent Extremism ; Counter Terrorism; Mass Atrocity Prevention; Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR); Children and Armed Conflict; transitional justice and; Security Sector Reform in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region. She is currently a member of an international working group on Children and Violent Extremism; an associate member of the Security Institute in the United Kingdom; a member of Women in International Security (WIIS) and; a member of the RESOLVE network which is a global consortium of researchers and practitioners seeking evidence-based strategies to prevent and counter violent extremism. A Harvard trained leader and organizer, Florence has 20 years’ experience working in the media and the development sector in East and West Africa where she has also consulted for international organisations.
